Senior Systems Engineer Job Description

SPE is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the design, integration, and management of complex systems across their full lifecycle. This role requires demonstrated experience in requirements development, acquisition, testing, and transition to operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead systems engineering efforts from concept through deployment, including requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, testing, and validation.
• Translate stakeholder needs into technical requirements and system architectures.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including specifications, interface control documents, and risk assessments.
• Ensure traceability between system requirements, design, and verification activities.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and operations teams to ensure seamless      integration and performance.
• Perform trade studies and technical assessments to inform decision-making.
• Support system-level testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement and      knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Location: Chantilly, VA

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance is required for this position
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or related technical disciplines
• Demonstrated experience with system architecture, integration, and lifecycle management
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

      Preferred:

• INCOSE certification (CSEP) or PMP
• Experience with agile development environments
• Chief Systems Engineer experience
